We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dairy Farm Manager to lead our operations and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, milk production, and farm management. Our award-winning herd of 1,100 pedigree Holsteins is milked three times daily using a Bomatic 90-degree rapid exit 40/40 parlour.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care and management of the pedigree Holstein herd, ensuring excellent welfare, health, and productivity.
• Monitor and utilise performance data to improve key metrics including milk yield, fertility, and overall herd health.
• Lead calving procedures, breeding programmes, and youngstock rearing.
• Liaise with vets, consultants, and external specialists to implement best practices.
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations and ensure thorough record-keeping for audits.
• Supervise, train, and manage staff to foster a productive and collaborative work environment.
• Oversee parlour operations, ensuring consistent milk production standards.
• Perform technical tasks such as AI (Artificial Insemination) and foot trimming.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a dairy farming management role (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of herd health management and breeding programmes.
• Experience leading and developing farm teams.
• Proficiency in using data-driven insights for herd performance improvements.
• Practical skills in AI and foot trimming are an advantage.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Night shifts
• Weekend availability required
