We’re seeking couple enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about agriculture, livestock, and contributing to a sustainable.

Family farm milking 300 pedigree cows with robots who calve all year round, we have 6 lely robots as well as an automated feeding system.  During the summer months we carry out all of our own field work as a team.  We are looking for 2 enthusiastic individuals to join our team, one for rearing calves and another for general farm work.  All training will be provided and we are not necessarily looking for skilled people but for us the most important qualities for someone joining our team are punctuality, work ethic along with a smile!  However, experience is also a bonus!

Calf rearer.

The job entails rearing the calves from age 0 through to weaning.  Feeding calves milk for the first few weeks and then rearing on a machine (Training will be given).  The day will consist of feeding young calves bedding down as well as topping up corn and hay for the calves.  Cleanliness is key! 

During the day there is opportunity for some extra hours should they be required helping with the cows at drying off an on vet days, as well as generally helping to keep the farm tidy.

Roughly 35-40hrs per week.

05:00 – 17:30 (1hour for breakfast 09:30 one hour for lunch 13:30)

The job entails bedding down the cows every morning with a bobman, scraping our dry cows as well as some daily maintenance for the robots (washing and some checks, training given).  there is a proportion of manual work required.

During the day after breakfast jobs can vary from cleaning to management of silage pits as well as some general farm Maintenance where required, and any other jobs that may need carrying out!  After lunch it’s back to the routine where washing and check of the robots are performed before returning to scrape out, feeding young stock and then lastly scraping the cubicle beds!

All of the training will be given and worth ethic is at the forefront of our current team as so is invaluable for any new members joining the team, skills can be easily picked up along the way there is always someone on hand to help out where necessary!

One and a half days off per week are available during the week days, however weekends only consist of morning and afternoon routines  05:00-09:00 and 15:00-17:30

There is a static caravan on site available with the job, there is a potential house if things were to settle further down the line.
